Good Morning,
Yesterday Jim and I spent a beautiful day at Belle Fourche. Cute little town with lots of history. Their museum boasted the most antiques we have ever seen. Jim and I love history so reading the stories of the pioneers that lived in and around Belle Fourche was inspiring.
South Dakota sits front and center in the US, geographically and Belle Fourche holds the distinction as being the center of the nation since it is the closest community to the geographic point. The geographical center of the land mass of the US moved on August 21, 1959, the day Hawaii became the 50th state.
The cabin was built in 1876 and was home of Johnny Spaulding who was an avid hunter, scout and guide. At one time Spaulding his brother, sister in law and 6 children lived in this cabin.
We did some shopping in their quaint little town as there were a number of antique shops which we love.
Spent the evening in Deadwood which was a crazy night as there were numerous groups running around in Superman shirts and pink tutus. We think they were bachelorette parties.
Have an awesome Sunday,
Jim and Debbie

Good Afternoon,
Jim and I went to Custer State Part today. It was a beautiful drive through a park that boast 71,000 acres filled with wildlife, campgrounds, lodges and nature trails.
The park is home to pronghorns, mountain lions, coyotes, mule deer, white tailed deer, prairie dogs, bighorn sheep, burros, elk and bison. The drive through the park is beautiful. We had to go through several narrow tunnels that were so narrow we had to pull in the mirrors in order to get through.
On the way back we drove by Crazy Horse Monument and they have not made much progress since 2014.
Until tomorrow,
Jim and Debbie

Hi Everyone,
We have been having a great time and I have again neglect my blog. We were in Billings, MT for two days. We ran some errands and Jim played golf.
We spent Friday July 1 until today with my cousin David and his lovely wife Tina. David had a pacemaker implanted the Wednesday before we got there so we helped him around their place as he was not allowed to lift over 10 lbs or raise his arm above his head. His hobby is making leather chaps and saddles among other things. He and Tina are doing a rodeo the week of July 15th so Jim and I boxed his inventory and helped him do some leather work which Jim and I both found interesting.
Dave and Tina also have a mule named Taco, a mini horse named Speed and her baby Coffee, and three dogs Dude, Rosie and Buddy (Rosie and Buddy will have babies in about 3 months). I loved feeding the mule and horses their alfalfa treats and enjoyed watching the boys next door try to ride the mule bear back.
Saturday we drove to pick up two horses and take them out to David's son house Hal and his wife Tiffany's house which was about 2 hours from where Dave lives. Hal runs and manages a ranch with 425 head of cattle and 1,200 acres of hay that he grows and bales. It is a huge job running a ranch and I don't think our farmers get enough appreciation for all they do.
Sunday we went to see Team roping competition which was pretty cool. Tina's cousin and her husband both rope.
Monday we drove to Red Lodge, Mt for a good old, hometown parade and rodeo. Jim and I had never been to a rodeo so we were very excited. A big thank you to my cousin and his wife for buying the tickets and letting us experience this great American past-time.
David and I had not seen each other in about 53 years so it was hard to say good-bye for now today.
We are now in Spearfish, SD. We were here in 2014 and loved it and will venture out and see things we missed last time.
Until the next time,
Jim and Debbie
